You will be picked up from your hotel between 3:30 pm and 4:00 pm for a scenic 40–50 minute drive to a jetty near the Kuching Wetlands. Upon arrival, embark on a charming river cruise and begin your journey toward the South China Sea. As the boat glides along the river, keep a lookout for the elusive Irrawaddy dolphin, also known as the snubfin dolphin, which is sometimes spotted near the mouth of the Santubong River.

The Santubong area is one of the best places in Sarawak to observe Irrawaddy dolphins, which inhabit estuaries and shallow coastal waters. Continuing the cruise, we navigate through winding mangrove waterways and estuaries, where you may encounter a rich variety of wildlife. Highlights often include birds and the iconic proboscis monkey, commonly seen along mangrove fringes.

As the afternoon transitions into evening, enjoy breathtaking views of Mount Santubong and a spectacular sunset from the water. When dusk falls, your guide will lead the search for mesmerizing fireflies and elusive saltwater crocodiles. Keep your eyes on the muddy riverbanks, where crocodiles may occasionally appear, their eyes reflecting the beam of our flashlights. At the same time, clusters of fireflies illuminate the mangrove branches, creating a magical and unforgettable scene.

After this enchanting exploration, we return to the boat club and begin the journey back to Kuching, concluding an experience filled with remarkable wildlife encounters and the natural wonders of Sarawak.
