Description
TOUR ITINERARY
Duration 7-8 Hours | Difficulty Level : Moderate
You will be picked up from your hotel at 8:00 AM and driven to Bau District, approximately one hour from Kuching. At around 9:00 AM, the tour begins with a visit to one of Bau’s majestic limestone caves— Fairy Cave & Wind Cave.
Wind Cave winds through a limestone outcrop along the banks of the Sarawak River. Visitors can stroll along wooden plank walkways that run from one side of the outcrop to the other, allowing close views of impressive stalactites and stalagmites formed over thousands of years. A flashlight is recommended for exploring the darker sections of the cave.
Nearby is the Fairy Cave, another remarkable natural attraction. A flight of concrete steps leads to the cave entrance, located high on a limestone cliff. Inside, plank walkways guide visitors through spacious chambers and narrow passages similar to Wind Cave. The surrounding cliff face also offers outdoor adventure opportunities. Batman Wall, managed by the local community, is a popular rock-climbing site featuring overhangs and climbing routes of varying difficulty.
Enjoy exploring the caves for approximately 2.5 hours, followed by a short visit to a Buddhist Shrine, also situated within a limestone cave. After a brief visit, continue to Tasik Biru (Blue Lake) for a local foodcourt. This is a great opportunity to sample local specialties such as Sarawak Laksa or Kolok Mee, offering an authentic taste of Sarawakian cuisine. Take time to enjoy the meal and then enjoy the tranquil scenery and relax by the lake.
Afterward, proceed to Paku Rock Maze Garden at approximately 2:00 PM. This unique natural maze features rock formations resembling T-Rexes, a mummy, a mermaid’s trail, a rabbit hole, a ghost’s face, and a skeleton king. The garden also includes a small man-made pond home to numerous tortoises.
At 2:30 PM, visit Siniawan Old Town, one of Sarawak’s historic settlements. During the day, Siniawan reveals a peaceful atmosphere reminiscent of a bygone era. Weathered wooden shop houses stand as living artifacts, telling stories of a time when these buildings were the heart of the town—providing shelter, commerce, and spaces for community life. Though aged, each structure reflects resilience, heritage, and pride rooted deeply in Sarawak’s past. Approximately at 4:00pm, we will drop you at your hotel in Kuching.
