Description
TOUR ITINERARY
Duration 6-8 Hours | Difficulty Level : Moderate
You will be picked from their hotel at 8.00am and driven to Bau district roughly an hour from Kuching. We will start our tour with Majestic cave of Bau at 9.00am (Either Fairy or Wind Cave). Wind Cave at Bau meanders through a rocky outcrop on the banks of the Sarawak River. You can wander on a plank walk from one side of the outcrop to the other and see the stalactites and stalagmites that have formed over millennia. You will need a flashlight. Not far from Wind Cave is the Fairy Cave, another natural wonder. A flight of concrete steps leads up to the cave entrance high in a limestone cliff. Like Wind Cave, there are plank walks to help visitors explore the passage. The cliff face also holds some outdoor adventure. Batman Wall managed by the local community is popular with rock climbers with overhangs and routes of varying degrees of difficulty.
Enjoy the cave for 1.5 hours then get a short drive to Buddhist Shrine, also a limestone cave. After the short visit, you will head to Tasik Biru (Blue Lake) at 11.30am. Enjoy the scenario and relax by the lake with a drink.
After the lake visit, we will go to a local food court for lunch at 12.30pm. Try Laksa Sarawak or Kolok Mee, a true taste of Sarawak. After our lunch, we will head to Paku Rock Maze Garden at 2.00pm, a natural maze garden formed with rock resembling T-Rexes, a mummy, a mermaid’s trail, a rabbit hole, a ghost’s face and a skeleton king. There is also a small manmade pond with numerous tortoises.
At 2.30pm, you will visit Siniwan, an old town of Sarawak. During the day, Siniawan unveils a serene scene reminiscent of Sarawak’s bygone era. Weathered wooden structures stand as living artefacts, narrating tales of a time when these buildings served as the lifeblood of the town—offering shelter, commerce, and spaces for leisure. Each building, though aged, radiates history and pride, echoing the resilience of a community rooted in its past.
