Tour Itinerary:

Day 1 – Arrival in Kuching | Sarawak Sunset Cruise (L/D)

Upon arrival at Kuching International Airport, meet and greet by our guide before transferring to your hotel in Kuching city centre. Along the way, enjoy a quick lunch featuring the famous Sarawak Laksa at a local restaurant.

After hotel check-in and some time to relax, proceed for an evening Sunset Cruise along the Sarawak River. Enjoy the gentle breeze and panoramic views of Kuching’s waterfront as the city transitions from day to night. Depending on weather conditions, the cruise offers beautiful views of Kuching’s riverside landmarks and provides a relaxing introduction to the city.

After the cruise, enjoy dinner featuring delicious local Sarawakian cuisine before returning to your hotel.

Day 2 – Bako Wildlife & Permai Rainforest (B/L)

After breakfast, you will be picked up at around 7:45 a.m. and transferred to Bako Jetty. The journey takes approximately 30–40 minutes by road before boarding a boat to Bako National Park Headquarters. As you approach the park, dramatic coastal rock formations and lush rainforest scenery come into view.

Explore the diverse ecosystem of Bako National Park with an experienced park guide. Keep an eye out for long-tailed macaques, silvered leaf monkeys, proboscis monkeys and Bornean bearded pigs, as well as other wildlife including birds, reptiles and rainforest creatures. Depending on conditions and luck, you may also encounter flying squirrels, colugos, otters, tarsiers and other fascinating species.

Trek through the rainforest trails and learn about Bako’s unique flora and fauna. Your guide will also help you look for the iconic green pit viper and other wildlife hidden within the forest.

After the hike, return by boat to Bako Jetty, where your driver will meet you and transfer you to Permai Rainforest Resort.

Check in to your designated accommodation, either a treehouse or jungle villa, and enjoy the remainder of the afternoon at leisure. Relax by the jungle pool or unwind on the private beach while enjoying the sunset.

Day 3 – Bengoh Valley Adventure & Mountain Homestay (B/L/D)

Breakfast will be served at the Tree Café at around 7:00 a.m. After breakfast, take some time to relax and explore the rainforest surroundings before freshening up and checking out at approximately 9:30 a.m.

Your vehicle will then transfer you to Bengoh Jetty, a journey of approximately two hours. Upon arrival, board a boat and enjoy a scenic ride into the beautiful Bengoh Valley.

Enjoy lunch at the hiking starting point before beginning your trek towards the waterfall. Explore the spectacular natural surroundings and discover the fascinating landscapes often referred to as the “Jurassic of Sarawak.”

In the late afternoon, take a short boat ride towards the mountain village, followed by a short hike up to the village. Arrive at your homestay at around 4:00 p.m. for check-in. Freshen up and enjoy some time to rest.

At around 6:00 p.m., head to Tanju to enjoy the sunset overlooking the surrounding landscape. Return to the homestay for dinner at approximately 7:30 p.m.

After dinner, enjoy a relaxing evening and experience the peaceful atmosphere of the mountain village.

Day 4 – Batang Ai & Iban Headhunters’ Village (B/L/D)

Wake up early and enjoy the beautiful sunrise from the mountain before having breakfast.

After breakfast, check out from the homestay and descend the mountain before taking a short boat ride back to the jetty. Your driver will meet you here and continue the journey towards Batang Ai Reservoir.

Along the way, stop at Lachau Bazaar at around 11:00 a.m. Take some time to explore the local shops and small native market before enjoying an early lunch at a local coffee shop.

Continue the journey to Batang Ai Lake, arriving at approximately 1:30–2:00 p.m. From Pangkalan Batang Ai, board a longboat and enjoy a scenic journey through the rainforest waterways towards the Iban longhouse.

Upon arrival, settle into the Iban longhouse and freshen up. Enjoy a short tea break followed by an introduction and briefing about village life and your upcoming activities.

In the evening, enjoy a delicious home-cooked dinner before gathering with the villagers for a cultural evening featuring traditional Iban music and dance performances. Experience the graceful movements of the Ngajat dance, listen to stories passed down through generations and enjoy the warm hospitality of the Iban community. You may also have the opportunity to sample locally brewed rice wine (Tuak) while learning about its cultural significance.

Day 5 – Jungle Trekking & Rainforest Adventure (B/L/D)

Wake up to the peaceful sounds of the rainforest and enjoy a traditional breakfast before setting off on an exciting guided jungle trekking adventure. Accompanied by experienced local guides, trek through dense rainforest trails, cross streams and pass through traditional farming areas. Along the way, discover medicinal plants and fruit trees while learning how the local community has relied on the forest for generations.

Your guide will share fascinating insights into jungle survival techniques, traditional hunting practices and the rich biodiversity of Batang Ai. Depending on trail and weather conditions, the trek may lead to a beautiful jungle waterfall or crystal-clear stream, providing a refreshing place to rest and enjoy the natural surroundings.

Enjoy a picnic lunch in the rainforest before returning to the longhouse. After some time to relax, continue your cultural experience with a traditional blowpipe demonstration. Learn about this ancient hunting tool once used by the Iban people and try your skills at hitting a target under the guidance of local experts.

Spend the afternoon interacting with the villagers and learning about their traditions, handicrafts and way of life. This is a meaningful opportunity to gain a deeper appreciation of the cultural heritage that continues to thrive within these remote communities.

In the evening, enjoy another traditional dinner followed by storytelling, cultural exchange and community interaction.

Day 6 – Farewell to the Iban Community | Return to Kuching (B/L)

After breakfast, take one last opportunity to enjoy the tranquil surroundings and bid farewell to your hosts. Board the longboat for the return journey through the rainforest waterways to Batang Ai. Upon arrival, continue by road towards Kuching, with stops along the way for refreshments and lunch.

Relax during the journey and reflect on your unforgettable experiences — from exciting jungle trekking and spectacular rainforest scenery to traditional cultural performances and meaningful interactions with the Iban community.

Arrive back in Kuching in the late afternoon and check in to your hotel. The evening is free at leisure to rest or explore Kuching independently.

*Optional Evening Experience – Evening Wildlife Cruise

For guests interested in nature and wildlife, an optional wildlife cruise can be arranged at an additional fee. The cruise offers the opportunity to explore the waterways around the Santubong/Kuching Wetlands area and look for wildlife such as Dolphins, Proboscis Monkeys, Macaques, Crocodiles, Birds, Fireflies and other wetland species. Wildlife sightings are subject to weather, tide and natural conditions.

Day 7 – Local Shopping | Departure (B)

After breakfast, enjoy a relaxed morning exploring Kuching’s waterfront and historic city centre, ideal for some final sightseeing and shopping. Visit local shops where you can purchase Sarawak souvenirs, handicrafts, local snacks and the famous Sarawak kek lapis. After shopping, return to the hotel to freshen up and prepare for departure. At the appropriate time, check out from the hotel and transfer to Kuching International Airport for your onward flight.
