Day 1: Bako National Park Wildlife & Permai Rainforest (L)

You will be picked up from your hotel at approximately 7:45 AM and transferred to Bako Jetty. The journey takes about 30–40 minutes by road to a riverside village, where you will board a small boat and travel upstream to Bako National Park Headquarters—an adventurous and scenic approach. As you near the park, striking coastal rock formations will immediately capture your attention.

At Bako National Park, wildlife thrives within this diverse ecosystem. You may encounter long-tailed macaques, the elusive silver leaf monkeys, and the iconic proboscis monkeys, with an estimated 275 individuals living in the area. These fascinating primates are often seen swinging through the trees or relaxing in the mangroves.

Other notable wildlife includes the bearded wild boar, the park’s largest resident mammal, as well as flying squirrels, flying lemurs, otters, tarsiers, slow lorises, and a wide variety of resident and migratory birds. With the guidance of our experienced park guide, you will also have the opportunity to look for the iconic green pit viper. The rich fauna, combined with lush jungle landscapes and coastal scenery, reveals Bako’s vibrant beauty at every turn.

After the hike, you will return by boat to the jetty, where our driver will transfer you to Permai Rainforest Resort. Upon arrival, you will check in to your treehouse or jungle villa. Spend the evening at leisure—relax, enjoy a refreshing shower in the jungle pool, and watch the sunset from the private beach.

Dinner is available at Tree Café between 6:00 p.m. and 8:30 p.m or at nearby food court. After dinner, enjoy leisure time at your own pace, whether exploring the rainforest or relaxing by the beach. An optional night walk is available at an additional cost; please contact us at least 48 hours in advance to arrange this activity.

Note: Check-in at Permai is subject to Bako tour finishing time.

Day 2: Annah Rais Longhouse & Bengoh Valley (B/L/D)

Breakfast will be served at 7:00 AM at the Tree Café. This is usually a buffet, but during low occupancy, it may be served à la carte.

After breakfast, enjoy some free time to relax or explore the rainforest surroundings. Several organized trails are available, including a self-guided walk to a waterfall. After your walk, return to freshen up and check out by 11:00 AM.

Our vehicle will then transfer you to Annah Rais Longhouse, a journey of approximately 2 hours. Upon arrival, complete registration and enjoy lunch at the longhouse, featuring freshly prepared traditional ethnic cuisine.

After lunch, explore the longhouse and surrounding village. At around 3:30 PM, you will arrive at the jetty, where a boatman will take you on a 20-minute scenic boat ride, followed by a short hike up the mountain. By approximately 4:00 PM, you will check in to your homestay, freshen up, and rest.

At 6:00 PM, self walk to the Tanju (Viwepoint) to enjoy the last hour of the day time (Optional activity). Dinner will be served at 7:30 PM. After dinner, relax and enjoy the peaceful night from the mountain before resting for the next day’s adventure.

Day 3: Waterfalls & the Jurassic of Sarawak (B/L)

Wake up early and self walk to Tanju to enjoy the sunrise from the mountain (Optional activity). After sunrise, breakfast will be served. You will then check out from the homestay and descend the mountain, followed by a short boat ride to the hiking trail starting point.

Accompanied by a local village guide, embark on a hike to discover beautiful waterfalls and explore what is often called the “Jurassic of Sarawak”, known for its ancient-looking landscapes and pristine rainforest.

After completing the hike, lunch will be served. You will then take one final boat ride back to the jetty, enjoying the scenic views along the way. Our driver will meet you at the jetty and transfer you back to Kuching, arriving in the afternoon.

TRIP NOTES:

• There is no assurance that you will see the park’s animals because they are wild and free.
• Never feed an animal or engage with one. Allow them to run wild. They become accustomed to being fed, and if they don’t get anything, they may become hostile.
• Do Not Swim at Bako Park Beach
• Bring insect repellent, sunscreen, antiseptic
• Wear proper shoe for hiking.
• Travellers must comply with weather conditions and SFC’s regulations.
• Please get ready before the pickup time. As it is a group tour, we request our guests to standby before our driver arrives.
• We do not take any responsibility in the event of animal attacks, leeches, self-injury etc.
• Children must be accompanied by guardian at the time of tour.
• The mountain at Bengoh might be slippery after rainfall. Please wear proper shoe.
