Day 1: Bako National Park Wildlife & Permai Rainforest (L)

You will be picked up from your hotel at approximately 7:45 AM and transferred to Bako Jetty. The journey takes about 30–40 minutes by road to a riverside village, where you will board a small boat and travel upstream to Bako National Park Headquarters—an adventurous and scenic approach. As you near the park, striking coastal rock formations will immediately capture your attention.

At Bako National Park, wildlife thrives within this diverse ecosystem. You may encounter long-tailed macaques, the elusive silver leaf monkeys, and the iconic proboscis monkeys, with an estimated 275 individuals living in the area. These fascinating primates are often seen swinging through the trees or relaxing in the mangroves.

Other notable wildlife includes the bearded wild boar, the park’s largest resident mammal, as well as flying squirrels, flying lemurs, otters, tarsiers, slow lorises, and a wide variety of resident and migratory birds. With the guidance of our experienced park guide, you will also have the opportunity to look for the iconic green pit viper. The rich fauna, combined with lush jungle landscapes and coastal scenery, reveals Bako’s vibrant beauty at every turn.

After the hike, you will return by boat to the jetty, where our driver will transfer you to Permai Rainforest Resort. Upon arrival, you will check in to your treehouse or jungle villa. Spend the evening at leisure—relax, enjoy a refreshing shower in the jungle pool, and watch the sunset from the private beach.

Dinner is available at Tree Café between 6:00 p.m. and 8:30 p.m or at nearby food court. After dinner, enjoy leisure time at your own pace, whether exploring the rainforest or relaxing by the beach. An optional night walk is available at an additional cost; please contact us at least 48 hours in advance to arrange this activity.

Day 2: Waterfalls & the Jurassic of Sarawak (B/L/D)

At 7.00am breakfast will be served at Tree-café, usually a buffet and with low occupancy a la carte. After breakfast, you may relax and explore the rainforest. After that you can freshen up and check out by 9.30am. Our vehicle will be there and will transfer you to Bengoh jetty, about 2 hours journey.

Take our boat to the valley. Enjoy the scenic boat ride before having lunch at the hiking entry point. After lunch, it is time to hike to the waterfall and explore Jurassic of Sarawak.  At the late afternoon, we will take a short boat to arrive at the mountain village, there will be a short hike to go up to the village.  Around 4:00pm check in our homestay, freshen up and rest. At 6.00pm go to Tanju for sunset. Dinner will be served at 7.30pm. After dinner just easy and relax.

Day 3: Annah Rais Longhouse  (B/L)

Wake up early and self walk to Tanju to enjoy the sunrise from the mountain (Optional activity). After sunrise, breakfast will be served. You will then check out from the homestay and descend the mountain, followed by a short boat ride to the jetty.

Less than 30 mintutes drive to the Annah Rais Bidayuh Longhouse, you will be greeted with Tuak (traditional rice wine) by our local host.  There are over 80 families living together. You will explore this Bidayuh Village and learn about the culture of Land Dayaks, who were once head-hunters.

Next, guest(s) will discover the longhouse’s unique cultural and architectural features including describes the Bidayuh community’s traditional farming lifestyle, including its rare use of bamboo. You also will proceed with the freshly cooked bamboo chicken called ‘Ayam Pansuh’ and wild jungle vegetables on the Sanju (patio) of the longhouse. This is a delightful Sarawak’s Ethnic Lunch by the locals. After the tour, we will drop you at Kuching hotel in the afternoon.

TRIP NOTES:

• There is no assurance that you will see the park’s animals because they are wild and free.
• Never feed an animal or engage with one. Allow them to run wild. They become accustomed to being fed, and if they don’t get anything, they may become hostile.
• Do Not Swim at Bako Park Beach
• Bring insect repellent, sunscreen, antiseptic
• Wear proper shoe for hiking.
• Travellers must comply with weather conditions and SFC’s regulations.
• Please get ready before the pickup time. As it is a group tour, we request our guests to standby before our driver arrives.
• We do not take any responsibility in the event of animal attacks, leeches, self-injury etc.
• Children must be accompanied by guardian at the time of tour.
• The mountain at Bengoh might be slippery after rainfall. Please wear proper shoe.
• The accommodations do not have en-suite bathroom. If you prefer to have a fully separate unit with private bathroom, please contact us before confirming the tour. It will be subject to availability and additional charge may apply.
