You will be picked up from your hotel in Kuching city for a comfortable 45-minute drive to the Sarawak Cultural Village, beautifully located at the foothills of the majestic Mount Santubong. This half-day experience offers a wonderful introduction to Sarawak’s rich cultural heritage, allowing you to discover the traditions, lifestyles, and customs of the state’s diverse ethnic communities.

The Sarawak Cultural Village is a remarkable living museum, featuring authentic replica buildings that represent Sarawak’s major ethnic groups, including the Bidayuh, Iban, Orang Ulu, Penan, Melanau, Malay, and Chinese communities. As you stroll through the village, you will be surrounded by beautifully crafted traditional houses set against a lush natural backdrop.

Each building is staffed by members of the respective ethnic groups, dressed in traditional costumes and demonstrating daily activities unique to their culture. Friendly housekeepers serve as storytellers, sharing insights into their customs, beliefs, and way of life. Visitors are encouraged to participate in hands-on experiences such as learning how to spin a traditional Malay gasing (spinning top), trying target practice with the Iban blowpipe, or discovering how sago flour is traditionally made in the Penan hut.

The visit concludes with a vibrant 45-minute multi-cultural dance performance held at the village’s theatre.
