You will be picked up from designated locations in Kuching in the morning between 7:30am-8:00am and transferred on a scenic 35–40 minute drive to Bako Jetty. Upon arrival, meet your guide and complete registration before boarding a small boat for an exciting upstream journey to Bako National Park headquarters. The approximately 20-minute boat ride offers spectacular views of mangrove forests, rugged coastal cliffs, and unique rock formations. Along the way, there is a chance to spot wildlife such as crocodiles, sea eagles, and various shore birds.

Upon reaching the park headquarters, your guided jungle adventure begins. Accompanied by an experienced park guide, explore Bako’s tropical rainforest along selected trails such as Telok Pandan Kecil, Telok Paku, or Telok Delima, depending on weather and trail conditions. As you trek through the forest, keep an eye out for Bako’s remarkable wildlife, including proboscis monkeys, long-tailed macaques, silver leaf monkeys, bearded wild boars, and a variety of bird species. With a bit of luck, you may also encounter more elusive creatures such as flying squirrels, colugos, otters, tarsiers, slow lorises, or even the well-camouflaged Green Pit Viper.

Later in the day, guests may choose to continue on a second jungle trail, selected based on individual interests and physical comfort. This additional walk allows you to experience different landscapes within the park, showcasing diverse flora, fauna, and scenic viewpoints.

In the afternoon, return by boat to Bako Jetty before the final departure, followed by the drive back to Kuching. Guests can expect to arrive at their hotel in the late afternoon, concluding a rewarding day immersed in the rich biodiversity and natural beauty of Bako National Park.

• Starting 1st January 2026, Lunch at Bako is optional and we will reimburse RM25/pax if you do not want the lunch (based on travellers’ recommendations).

TRIP NOTES:

• There is no assurance that you will see the park’s animals because they are wild and free.
• Lunch will be served either at Park canteen or outside of the Park after the trekking is done.
• Never feed an animal or engage with one. Allow them to run wild. They become accustomed to being fed, and if they don’t get anything, they may become hostile.
• Do Not Swim at Park Beach.
• Bring insect repellent, sunscreen, antiseptic.
• Boat time and tour duration can be changed due to weather or tidal conditions.
