You will be picked up from your hotel at approximately 7:45 a.m. for a 40-minute drive to Semenggoh Wildlife Centre (SWC). This visit offers a wonderful opportunity to observe semi-wild orangutans in their natural habitat.

Semenggoh is a renowned orangutan rehabilitation centre that cares for orphaned and rescued orangutans, preparing them for life in the wild. More than 20 orangutans live freely in the surrounding forest and often return to the centre during feeding times. Guests may witness orangutans emerging from the forest canopy to the feeding platform, which is set within a natural amphitheatre. Upon arrival, rangers from the Semenggoh Forest Reserve will brief guests on the centre’s objectives and conservation efforts. Your guide will also point out any orangutans visible along the forest trails.

After the orangutan experience, the journey continues with another 40-minute scenic drive through the beautiful Sarawak countryside to Annah Rais Bidayuh Longhouse. Upon arrival, guests will be warmly welcomed with a traditional village drink known as Tuak (Non-halal).

Home to over 80 families, Annah Rais offers an authentic insight into Bidayuh (Land Dayak) culture. Accompanied by your guide, you will explore the village and learn about the traditions of the Land Dayaks, who were historically known as headhunters. Guests will also discover the longhouse’s unique cultural and architectural features, including the community’s traditional farming lifestyle and its rare and creative use of bamboo. A delightful Sarawak ethnic lunch (halal), prepared by the locals, will be served.

After lunch, the tour continues to Fairy Cave, one of Sarawak’s most beautiful limestone caves. Guests will explore the cave’s impressive rock formations, including stalactites and stalagmites, as sunlight filters through natural openings to create a magical atmosphere. The cave is accessible via a short jungle walk and a series of steps, offering a rewarding and memorable experience.

At the end of the tour, guests will be transferred back to the hotel.
