At 8:00 am, guests will be picked up from their hotel in Kuching and begin the drive to the small town of Lundu, arriving at Gunung Gading National Park headquarters at approximately 10:00 am. The tour begins with a visit to the park’s interpretation centre, where you will learn about the unique ecology and life cycle of the world’s largest flower, the Rafflesia.

If a Rafflesia is in bloom, guests will take a guided walk of approximately 10 to 30 minutes along one of the park’s forest trails to view this remarkable flower in its natural habitat. Along the way, your guide will point out the host vines and cabbage-like Rafflesia buds scattered across the forest floor, offering insight into the plant’s fascinating parasitic growth process.

If no Rafflesia is blooming at the time of visit, guests may enjoy a 30-minute walk from the interpretation centre to Waterfall No. 1. Located about 600 metres from the park headquarters, this waterfall is accessible via the main trekking trail that leads toward the summit of Gunung Gading. The area features a small cascading waterfall and several rock pools, where guests can take a refreshing swim in the cool rainforest waters.

After enjoying the rainforest environment, guests will walk back along the main trail for approximately 10 minutes before reaching the Rafflesia Trail boardwalk. This scenic route passes through a rocky forest area where Rafflesia plants are commonly found. The guide will highlight the Tetrastigma host vines and the distinctive brown Rafflesia buds that grow along the boardwalk.

Following the visit, guests will return to the park headquarters and depart Gunung Gading around 1:30 pm. Lunch will be taken at a local foodcourt in Lundu. After lunch, the journey back to Kuching begins, with an expected arrival time of approximately 4:00 pm.
