Day 1: Kuching – Batang Ai – Headhunter Longhouse (L/D)

You will be picked up from your hotel at approximately 9:00 a.m. and begin the scenic drive to Batang Ai Reservoir. En route, a stop will be made at Lachau Bazaar around 11:00 a.m., where you can stroll through local shops and a small native market. An early lunch will be served at a local restaurant.

The journey continues, arriving at Batang Ai Lake between 1:30 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. From Pangkalan Batang Ai, you will be transferred by traditional wooden longboat to the Headhunter Longhouse. This picturesque boat journey takes approximately 60 minutes, offering beautiful views of the surrounding rainforest and lake.

Upon arrival at around 3:30 p.m., you will be warmly welcomed by the Longhouse Chief and enjoy a short tea break before settling into your accommodation. After freshening up, you are free to explore the surroundings. Dinner featuring local dishes will be served at 7:30 p.m. Spend the time afterwards with the longhouse people. Learn about their histories, traditions and life.

Day 2: Jungle Trek & Cultural Experience (B/L/D)

Breakfast will be served at 7:00 a.m. At 8:00 a.m., you will depart by boat to the rainforest, where a guided jungle trek begins. Accompanied by a local guide, you will trek to a nearby waterfall, experiencing the rich rainforest environment.  Enjoy a BBQ picnic by the riverbank, followed by swimming and relaxation in the peaceful rainforest setting.

At around 3:00 p.m., you will return to the longhouse to relax  and enjoy a tea break, followed by free time to rest or interact with the local community.

Dinner will be served at 7:00 p.m. At 8:30 p.m., enjoy a cultural performance featuring traditional music and dance. Guests are also invited to experience Tuak, the local rice wine, before winding down for the night. Social time with the longhouse community continues until approximately 9:30 p.m., after which you may retire for the evening.

Day 3: Batang Ai – Kuching (B/L)

Wake up early and roam around the village. Experience the morning chore. Then breakfast will be served. After breakfast, witness a cock-fighting or blowpipe demonstration by the villagers.  At 9:30 a.m., you will depart from the longhouse by longboat to Batang Ai Hydro Jetty. Enjoy the last boat ride of the tour. You will arrive at the jetty approximately around 10:30 a.m. Then the return journey to Kuching will begin, with a stop in Serian for refueling and lunch at a local restaurant. You will arrive back in the city by late afternoon, marking the end of your journey.
