TOUR ITINERARY

Duration 2 DAYS 1 NIGHT | Difficulty Level : Moderate

Day 1: Journey to Bako National Park & Wildlife Exploration

You will be picked up from your hotel between 7:30 AM – 8:00 AM and transferred to Bako Jetty. The journey takes approximately one hour by road to a riverside village, where you will board a small boat and travel upstream to Bako National Park Headquarters—an adventurous and memorable arrival. As you approach the park, the dramatic sandstone rock formations rising from the coastline will immediately capture your attention.

Once inside the park, you will explore a dynamic landscape teeming with wildlife. From the ever-present long-tailed macaques to the elusive silver leaf monkeys and the iconic proboscis monkeys—with an estimated 275 individuals inhabiting the area—Bako offers exceptional wildlife encounters. These fascinating creatures are often seen swinging through the trees or relaxing among the mangroves.

Other notable inhabitants include the bearded wild boar, the park’s largest resident mammal, as well as the shy silver leaf monkey, which may react defensively when feeling threatened. With some luck, you may also spot flying squirrels, flying lemurs, otters, tarsiers, slow lorises, and a wide variety of resident and migratory bird species. Accompanied by an experienced park guide, you will also learn how to look for the iconic green pit viper. The rich biodiversity, combined with lush jungle trails and coastal scenery, reveals Bako’s true beauty at every turn.

After the hike, you will have time to rest and relax. Following dinner at the park canteen, enjoy a short evening jungle walk, focusing on nocturnal wildlife and insects.

Day 2: Morning Wildlife & Return to Kuching

Wake up early for an early morning wildlife encounter, when animals are most active. You may enjoy a short walk before breakfast. After breakfast, take some time to prepare before boarding the boat back to the jetty.

Your driver will be waiting to transfer you back to Kuching city, with arrival around noon.
