TOUR ITINERARY

Duration 3 Days 2 Nights | Difficulty Level : Moderate

DAY 1 

Between 12 and 1 pm, you will be picked up from Sandakan hotels, Sandakan airport, or the Sepilok region to begin your day. Since the expected transfer time to the Kinabatangan River is two to three and a half hours, make sure you eat before being picked up or pack some snacks for the trip. After checking into your room, you can start your first river cruise at 4 p.m. After enjoying tea, coffee, and snacks at our restaurant with a view of the river. Your guide will search for crocodiles, birds, orang-utans, silver leaf monkeys, long-tail and pig-tail macaques, proboscis monkeys, and more throughout the course of the next two hours! After your river cruise, have dinner at the lodge before going on the nightly walk that is included with your guide. 

DAY 2: 

Take your second river cruise as the sun rises and observe the river as it comes to life. Watch for wildlife, such as the rare hornbills of Borneo, and get another opportunity to see several different kinds of primates. After breakfast at the resort, go on a forest walk with your guide to search for orang-utan nests or, if you’re lucky, the orang-utans themselves. Before embarking on an afternoon river boat to see more of the region’s distinctive fauna, take advantage of a lunch overlooking the river and some downtime.After supper, take a nighttime stroll with your guide or opt for a nighttime sail to explore the riverbank for nocturnal species. 

• Night cruise is an optional extra that costs RM100 per person. 

DAY 3 

Get up early, go on your last river cruise at dawn with your guide, have breakfast at the resort, and then take your transfer back to Sandakan or Sepilok. The Sandakan airport and hotels in Sepilok and Sandakan are dropped off between 11 and 11.30 a.m. Meals B 

On request and at an additional cost, transfers to other overland locations like Lahad Datu, Semporna, or Tawau are offered.

HAVE EXTRA TIME ON YOUR LAST DAY? 

On your way back to Sandakan, take a guided tour of the Gomantong caves. After lunch in Sepilok, join us for Sabah’s longest canopy walk at the Sepilok Rainforest Discovery Centre. This add-on, which costs RM300 per adult, is appropriate for visitors spending the night in

Sandakan or Sepilok or who are flying out of Sandakan airport starting at 5:30 p.m. Simply inquire for further information while making your reservation!
