DAY 1: CULTURAL IMMERSION & VILLAGE LIFE (L/D)

The journey begins around 9:00am from Kuching with a scenic drive to Sematan, passing through rural landscapes, pepper farms, and coastal settlements. Upon arrival in Sematan, you will enjoy lunch at a local restaurant featuring local Sarawak dishes.

In the afternoon, the tour continues to a nearby Salako village, where you are warmly welcomed by the village community. After checking in to the traditional Salako longhouse, you are introduced to village life through a guided walk around the longhouse and surrounding area. The guide shares insights into Salako traditions, customs, and daily routines.

Guests visit nearby paddy fields and pepper gardens, learning about traditional farming practices that remain central to Salako culture. Time is given for interaction with villagers and photo opportunities in the peaceful village setting.

In the evening, a home-cooked traditional dinner is served at the longhouse. The night continues with a cultural sharing session, which may include storytelling, traditional music, dance, or informal interaction with the villagers—offering a meaningful cultural exchange experience.

DAY 2: NATURE & ADVENTURE EXPERIENCE (B/L/D)

After breakfast at the longhouse, guests embark on a guided jungle hike in the surrounding area of the village. The trail winds through secondary rainforest and forest fringes, where experienced local guides share their knowledge of medicinal plants, edible forest produce, and traditional survival practices passed down through generations. During certain seasons, guests may have the rare opportunity to spot the Rafflesia flower, the world’s largest bloom, along the forest trails (subject to blooming season and natural conditions). The hike is of moderate difficulty, making it suitable for most fitness levels, and offers a refreshing immersion in nature with cool forest air, natural sounds, and occasional scenic viewpoints along the way.

Upon returning to the village, enjoy lunch and time to rest. The late afternoon is dedicated to hands-on village activities, which may include village walk or cooking demonstration. You can also walk to the nearest sea beach to enjoy sunset (15 minutes walk).

After the sunset, share another village-style dinner prepared by the host families. The night offers a relaxed atmosphere for bonding, storytelling, or simply enjoying the tranquility of rural Sarawak under the stars. You may also learn the weaving activity, tribe’s language and customs etc.

DAY 3: COASTAL EXPLORATION & FAREWELL (B/L)

After an early breakfast, you will travel to Pueh Beach, a quiet and unspoiled coastal area near Sematan. An optional snorkeling session is arranged, allowing guests to explore shallow coral areas and observe small reef fish in clear waters (this activity is free of charge but subject to sea and weather conditions).

After snorkeling, guests have time to relax on the beach, enjoy the sea breeze, and take photos before heading back to Sematan or Lundu for lunch. After lunch, the journey continues back to Kuching, arriving in the late afternoon at your hotel.

Important: In the event, weather does not allow the snorkeling activity, you will either enjoy the beach and surrounding or enjoy the village of Telok Melano.
