You will be picked up from your hotel at approximately 7:45 a.m. for a 40-minute drive to the Semenggoh Wildlife Centre. This is a wonderful opportunity to observe semi-wild orangutans in their natural habitat. The center is a rehabilitation facility that cares for orphaned or rescued orangutans and prepares them for life in the wild. More than 20 orangutans live freely in the surrounding forest and often return to the center during feeding times. You may watch the orangutans descend from the forest canopy to the feeding platform, which is set within a natural amphitheater. Upon arrival, rangers from the Semenggoh Forest Reserve will provide a briefing on the center’s mission and conservation efforts, while the forest rangers will point out any orangutans visible along the trail.

After the orangutan tour, enjoy another scenic 40-minute drive through the Sarawak countryside to the Annah Rais Bidayuh Longhouse. Upon arrival, guests will be welcomed with a traditional village drink known as Tuak. Home to over 80 families, the longhouse offers a fascinating insight into Bidayuh life. Accompanied by a local guide from the village, guests will explore the longhouse and learn about the culture of the Land Dayaks, who were once known as headhunters. The tour also highlights the community’s unique architectural and cultural features, including their traditional farming lifestyle and distinctive use of bamboo.

A delightful Sarawak ethnic lunch prepared by the locals will be served. At the end of the tour, you will be transferred back to your hotel.
