You will be picked up from your hotel between 7:30 and 8:00 a.m., followed by a scenic 40-minute drive to the beautiful Semenggoh Forest Reserve. This visit offers a wonderful opportunity to observe semi-wild orangutans in their natural rainforest environment. Semenggoh is a well-known orangutan rehabilitation center that cares for orphaned and rescued orangutans, gradually preparing them for life in the wild. More than 20 orangutans roam freely within the reserve and often return to the feeding platform during feeding times.

You may witness orangutans emerging from the surrounding forest canopy and making their way to the feeding area, which is set within a natural amphitheater, allowing for excellent viewing opportunities. Park rangers will provide an informative briefing on the purpose and conservation objectives of the center, while your guide will point out any orangutans or wildlife visible along the forest trails.

After the orangutan experience, enjoy another 40-minute scenic drive through the Sarawak countryside to Annah Rais Bidayuh Longhouse, taking in lush landscapes along the way. Upon arrival, you will be warmly welcomed with a traditional village drink known as Tuak. Annah Rais is home to over 80 families, making it one of the largest remaining traditional longhouses in Sarawak.

Explore the Bidayuh village with your guide and learn about the fascinating culture of the Land Dayaks, who were once known as headhunters. Discover the longhouse’s unique architectural features and gain insight into traditional farming practices, including the distinctive use of bamboo in daily life.

Your cultural immersion continues with a delicious traditional lunch served on the longhouse’s Sanju (patio). Enjoy freshly prepared Ayam Pansuh (bamboo-cooked chicken) accompanied by wild jungle vegetables—an authentic Sarawak ethnic meal lovingly prepared by the local community.

After lunch, it is time to bid farewell to the village and begin the journey back to Kuching. You will be transferred to your hotel, arriving at approximately 2:30 p.m., bringing a memorable day of wildlife encounters and cultural discovery to a close.
